5.28.07 Vacation (Mommy)
What a month. It was the month that Andy was in Portland
for over a week and a half, then I was in Portland for one night,
and then we all were in Jersey for 5 days. We are back in Vegas,
ready to get all of our crap and get out of here. We may be ahead
of ourselves. No one has even seen the Vegas house yet so it would
be helpful if we could get that sold.
Our boy is bigger, faster, and louder. He is in size 6 shoes, which amazes
me. He is running now, which tires me. He still talks babble style which confuses
me. The newest word is "whoa". When ever he gets excited, Lijah will
say "Whoa! Whoa! Ya! Ya!" and so on until we get the point. Just
today we dropped into Best Buy for some technology stuff for the dad and Lijah
looked like he was in absolute heaven. He ran around and yelled "Whoa!" to
everything he saw. He likes to bend over, old man style, with his hands on
his legs to look closely at something he is enamored with and then backs up
to see if you are looking too. He was a crazy child at Best Buy. He LOVES him
some technology. Nothing like his dad.
We all had a wonderful time with my side of the family in Jersey. Lijah got
spoiled as all heck by his grandy-parents. Mom and Dad got to escape into the
city without the child for a day. Uncle Dave and Uncle Rick were there to toss
the little kid around. All was good. On Thursday Mom, Dad, Granny Barb, and
the boy went to Point Pleasant to see the beach and ride on the boardwalk rides.
Barbara was literally devastated that the rides were not open. So we decided
to take the boy to see the ocean. Shoes came off, pants got rolled up, and
away we went, over the sand to near frigid waters, the boy toddling cheerfully
along. The sand perplexed him as he struggled a bit to keep his bearing. Good
practice, though.
And then he saw it. THE OCEAN. Holy moly was he excited. "Whoa! Ya, ya,
ya!" The only word I can use to describe his movement towards the waves
is sprinting. His auntie Lisa would be so proud. We would follow him to the
ocean and have to stop him from literally throwing himself in. The water was
freezing! So every time we tried to get him out of the water and onto the warm
sand, Lijah would turn around and double back to the ocean. By the time we
left his feet and legs were red from the cold of the water and he still wanted
more. The child is definitely an Aquarius.
Right now Lijah is tucked into his crib after a rare evening of quiet. It was
perfect. He was smiley and cute as I put on his PJ's. He actually sat and listened
to a book without trying to grab it and read it himself. He didn't make a noise
when I put him in his crib, and he actually let me play around with him as
I put him down. Usually he is crushed when I put him to bed. Not that he fusses
for long, but he is disappointed. But tonight he was angelic and sweet. One
of those perfect parenting moments that happens rarely. It reminds me of how
much I love him and how cool it is to be his mom.
More later on his dancing.
5.14.07
(Mommy)
Gosh we just don't ever seem to have time to blog
nowadays! And judging by the state of our house we haven't felt
up to doing much else either. Andy
is working like crazy. I am over tired from not taking my track break and
interviewing what seems to be non-stop. It is hard and exhausting.
Our little boy is not so little anymore. He is now running around, giving
me a run for my money. Lijah and I went to a wedding reception over the weekend
and there was a pool that he just fell in love with. I think I got to sit
down for only a minute at a time at the most since I was literally running
around after our boy. Tiring it may be, but chasing after my giggly little
toddler is great fun. I swear he is getting cuter and cuter every day!
Well, I am beyond exhausted, so I will try to blog later.
